The aim of the masterclass is designed to prepare the attendee in the development of recording of an item / incident photographically in a professional and expert way using a smartphone camera that will be acceptable to the Judicial system.

The masterclass will develop an awareness of the role, function and development of Planning and recording an incident photographically using a smartphone camera.

It will focus on the following:

How a smartphone camera works / Building smartphone camera confidence.

Smartphone camera settings.

Photo composition to a Judicial standard. 

Contrast , tones and depth of field.

Aperture and shutter speed.

Photographic storytelling.

Crime Scene Protocols and Scene Approach including Common Approach Paths.

The need for Long, Mid, Close view photographs in respect of incident photography.

Health and Safety issues in regard to photography.

The masterclass will focus on the subject content, theories, principles and practice which will underpin future training and development of the attendee.

It will also provide an educational experience which that will encourage the development of knowledge and application necessary to develop the attendee in their respective disciplines, in developing the attendees intellectual and academic abilities.

The masterclass that will be delivered are bespoke training modules and the content and training will reflect the requirements of the modules specifically designed for the 1st responder attendee.

It is envisaged that all attendees will be proficient in the English Language to fully participate in the course[s] and gain maximum benefit.
